Blockchain technology will be explored during the next MBN Malta Chapter monthly meeting, where two distinguished guest speakers will share insight into how this new technology can improve the business process.
“The correct application of Blockchain technology can create new channels of business or improve existing ones. Being knowledgeable on the topic can lead to one business getting to the opportunities first and translating them to business advantage,” said Marcel Cutajar, Managing Director of Agilis – an IT Business Solutions company founded over 30 years ago. Mr Cutajar will be delivering the presentation together with Agilis Technical Director Loui Mercieca, a certified trainer on Blockchain and Emerging Technologies.
Entitled ‘Embracing Blockchain: Real-life Scenarios’ their presentation will look into practical and real-life case studies. It will help attendees understand more about this complex technology and how they can change or improve their way of doing business, explained Mr Cutajar, who has been a MBN member since its inception in 2011.
Mr Cutajar has been involved in the ICT Industry for over 20 years. He founded and managed Key Services, a company offering IT Managed Services, Training and Software solutions. In 2013, the company was acquired by PWC Malta. He has held various posts within the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, including IT Business Section Chairman, Chairman Smart City Action Group and Chamber Council Member.
Mr Mercieca is a member of the National Blockchain Strategy Taskforce, acting as a technical Blockchain advisor to the Government of Malta. With over 12 years of experience in the IT industry, he has been studying Blockchain and Bitcoin since 2014 and is currently in the process of obtaining his certification as Ethereum developer.
Mr Cutajar and Mr Mercieca will share their expertise at the MBN Malta Chapter meeting on February 19 at the Xara Lodge between 6pm and 8.30pm.
