William Bain leads trade policy at the British Chambers of Commerce, representing the interests of businesses across the UK on international trade, regulation, and market access. With a background spanning academia, politics, and policy advisory roles, he has deep expertise in economic policy, financial services, trade systems, and regulation in the UK, the US, and globally.
A sought-after speaker, William regularly addresses major conferences on Brexit, globalisation, and financial services, and advises on regulatory and market-access implications. He has contributed to policy development on transport, the environment, and devolution, including work with Parliamentary frontbench teams and the Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee. A published author and media contributor, he is currently writing a book on the future of centre-left politics in Europe.
