Bank of Valletta CEO - Rick Hunkin, is a vastly experienced financial services executive who has worked in all aspects of retail, commercial and corporate banking for over 35 years and held seats on the Boards of several UK financial services companies.He sits on the Bank’s Board of Directors as Executive Director and is Chairman of the Malta Bankers’ Association.Rick holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a Financial Studies Diploma (obtained via CIB and Sheffield Hallam University). He has been elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Banking in both England and Scotland (FCIB, FCIBS) for services to Banking and Education.

David joined the MFSA in February 2020 after 22 years at the Bank of England including the UK’s Financial Services Authority. David was most recently responsible for the successful implementation of the UK’s ring fencing regime.During his supervisory career, David ran a number of teams responsible for oversight of large and medium sized banks, building societies and asset management firms. He was also a UK policy expert on the CRD and worked at the UK’s Permanent Representation in Brussels during the last UK EU Presidency.David studied Modern European Studies at Loughborough University prior to joining the Bank of England.

Joyce joined the HSBC Group in 1996 and has occupied roles in various areas across the bank including Risk, Personal Banking and Commercial Banking, mostly in Malta.  In 2007 she took up a temporary assignment in the London Headquarters. She has formed part of the Bank’s Executive Leadership Team since 2013 when she was appointed Chief Risk Officer.  In 2019 she was appointed Head of Commercial Banking.  She is also a Director of HSBC Life Assurance Co Ltd.Joyce champions Diversity and Inclusion in the bank and outside. She enjoys trekking, practising yoga and keeping fit, as well as spending time with her teenage daughter.

Marcel Cassar, CEO of APS Bank plc since 2016. He's held successively senior and executive positions with a Big 4 firm, in bank regulation and supervision at MIBA/MFSC (now MFSA), General Manager at Lombard Bank Malta plc, and First EVP & CFO at FIMBank plc.Long-standing Board member of the Malta Bankers’ Association, including Deputy Chairman and Chairman, he sat on the Board of the European Banking Federation.Marcel is a CPA, holds an MBA in Bank Financial Management from the University of Wales and Manchester Business School, and is a visiting lecturer and examiner at the University of Malta.
