In her address, Samantha will explore Malta’s unique position within the Commonwealth, reflecting on its historical ties while highlighting the opportunities that lie ahead.
The session will examine Malta’s evolution from a strategic hub within the British Empire to an independent and dynamic member of the Commonwealth of Nations. It will also consider Malta’s growing role as a gateway for international trade, investment, and collaboration within the Commonwealth network.
Drawing on her extensive experience advising global leaders across both the public and private sectors, Samantha will offer valuable insight into the evolving relevance of the Commonwealth in today’s geopolitical and economic landscape.
Samantha Cohen – Chief Executive, Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council
Samantha Cohen brings over 30 years of experience advising senior leaders across government, business, and international institutions. She currently serves as Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, where she works closely with governments and private sector leaders to promote trade and investment across Commonwealth countries.
Most recently, she served as Chief of Staff to the global CEO of Rio Tinto. Prior to this, she spent over 17 years within the Royal Household, including serving as Private Secretary to Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Originally from Australia, Samantha began her career within the Australian Federal Government before relocating to the United Kingdom.
