As the UK continues to define its post-Brexit relationship with the European Union, the dynamics between policy, trade, and industrial collaboration remain complex and fast-moving.
At the upcoming Malta Business Network event, Richard Rumbelow, Director of International Affairs at Make UK, will provide an up-to-date perspective on the current state of EU–UK relations. He will explore the practical realities facing manufacturers, exporters, and investors on both sides of the Channel.
Drawing on Make UK’s insights from across the manufacturing sector, Richard will examine emerging patterns in trade flows, regulatory alignment, and workforce mobility, highlighting where progress is being made and where friction still exists.
Adding a broader European dimension, the session will also consider the role of Malta as both an EU member state and a close Commonwealth partner. Malta’s position offers a distinctive lens through which to view the UK’s evolving engagement with Europe, serving as a bridge for collaboration, a hub for investment, and a strategic link within Mediterranean and EU trade networks.
