MBN UK invites you to a networking event at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO)’s London Headquarters on Tuesday 30th May 2023 at 6.00PM.
Simon Bennett, Deputy Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) - the global trade association for shipowners, will be our guest speaker and host for the evening. He will discuss the recent adoption of international maritime regulations and the anticipated business development opportunities, including those related to GHG emissions from ships, the advent of autonomous shipping and the Blue Economy.
Simon is responsible for coordinating overall development and representation of ICS positions on a wide range of issues, from environmental performance to the maintenance of free trade principles and helping the ICS Board to determine and deliver on ICS priorities. This includes the promotion of global regulation for a global industry, which is sound and carefully considered, and ensuring that shipping’s regulators fully understand the implications of their important decisions.
